Our foodbank is part of the Trussell network of more than 1,200 foodbank centres working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local communities, and across the UK.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.
Last winter, 600,000 food parcels were distributed to people facing hunger and poverty. We expect this year to be just as challenging as more people struggle to afford even the essentials..
